Session at SRI2022

Our team organized a session at the Sustainability Research and Innovation Congress 2022 (SRI2022), which was hosted from the University of Pretoria in South Africa. The SRI Congress is the world’s largest transdisciplinary gathering for the global sustainability community.

The title of our session was “Disaster Waste Management Capacity Development in the Global South.” Speakers from Fiji and the Philippines shared their experience in dealing with challenges related to disaster waste management (DWM) as well as their past, ongoing, and planned DWM capacity development initiatives. Speakers from Japan and Sweden shared lessons learned from their completed and continuing DWM capacity development projects in Global South countries. Here’s the 90-minute session program:
