Mentoring Seminar 2 for Makati
To update the project team and the stakeholders in Makati, a mentoring seminar was held on May 6, 2022. The outline of Makati’s disaster waste management contingency plan was discussed as well as how to deal with missing information. Makati expects to finish its DWM contingency plan by July 2022.

Attended the SWAPP Conference
Dr. Glenn Fernandez attended the virtual 2021 Solid Waste Management Association of the Philippines (SWAPP) Conference on November 25-26, 2021, where it was announced that the theme of the 2022 conference would be disaster waste management. On January 17, 2020, we conducted our Face-to-Face Training on Disaster Waste Management at Makati City Hall. There were more than 60 participants. Most of the participants had earlier completed the online course of the UN Environment/OCHA Joint Unit titled “Disaster Waste Management: Best Practices and Tools.”
